The Management Group of Children Worldwide takes seriously its responsibility to protect and safeguard the welfare of children and young people at every event in which Children Worldwide members participate. They believe that all children without exception have the right to protection from abuse regardless of gender, ethnicity, disability, sexuality or beliefs.
As part of the mission of Children Worldwide, The Management Group is committed to:
The Management Group of Children Worldwide recognises that children and young people can be the victims of neglect, and physical, sexual and emotional abuse. Accordingly, the Management Group has adopted the Child Protection Policy contained in their safeguarding policy document
It is the Management Group’s intention that members of Children Worldwide will always work with a Safeguarding/Child Protection Policy in place. This will happen in one of three ways:
(A) If the member is working ‘independently’ (and therefore not under another organisation’s Child Protection Policy), they will be subject to this Children Worldwide Safeguarding/Child Protection Policy
(B) For camps and other residential activities that run under the name of Children Worldwide, they will run under their “safeguarding for residential activities” policy
(C) If the member is working by invitation for a host church/organisation, or for their own church or organisation other than Children Worldwide, then they will be subject to the Child Protection Policy of the body for whom they are working. Where a host church/organisation refuses to follow any child protection guidelines, our strong advice to our members would be not to work with that church or organisation.
Throughout this Policy, the following applies
Full policy is available on request from the office.
